Welcome to the network configuration reference for Webhosting24. This page provides up-to-date technical details to help you set up and troubleshoot DNS, networking, and basic connectivity with our infrastructure.

🧭 DNS Configuration

Recommended Recursive Nameservers (Caching DNS):

Use the following nameservers in your system or router configuration for fast and reliable DNS resolution:

IPv4:

194.39.206.64
84.33.0.251
194.39.204.77
217.70.159.99
217.70.159.234

IPv6:

2a0c:8fc0:56a9::1

• DNS over TLS supported
• No logging, DNSSEC validation enabled
• IPv6: Supported

🏷️ Hostname Recommendations

• For server hostname (FQDN), we recommend using a fully qualified domain name like:
  yourserver.example.com
• Avoid using .local or .lan extensions to prevent conflicts.

🛡️ Reverse DNS (PTR Records)

If you have a VPS or dedicated server and need reverse DNS configured:

1. Log in to the Webhosting24 Console
2. Go to your VPS or Server and click on the management panel, from there select the reverse DNS option (rDNS):: IP Management → Reverse DNS
3. Set the desired hostname (must resolve via forward DNS)
4. Allow up to 30 minutes for propagation

📌 Note: For /29 or larger subnets, you may request delegation.

🌍 IPv6 Configuration

IPv6 is fully supported on all our networks. Here’s a basic example for static configuration:

Example:

Address: 2a0c:8fc0:<WXYZ>::1/48
Gateway: 2a0c:8fc0:<WXYZ>::fffe
Interface: eth0

Replace <WXYZ> with your assigned subnet.

🔐 Firewall & Ports

Please ensure the following ports are open if using our web hosting or monitoring services:

📌 Default VPS images come with firewall rules disabled. You must secure your services manually.
